When Should You Use OXPS vs XLSB?

OXPS vs XLSB: Key Differences

• •OXPS and XLSB diverge on compression: lossless compression for the source, lossless compression for the target.
• •Since both OXPS and XLSB use lossless compression, the quality characteristics are comparable — differences in file size come down to how efficiently each format implements compression.
• •Alpha channel support: XLSB lacks transparency support.
• •File sizes: OXPS files typically range N/A and XLSB files 30-50% smaller than XLSX for equivalent data.
• •OXPS is optimized for print-ready documents, cross-platform document sharing while XLSB is designed for large enterprise spreadsheets, financial modeling, big data analysis — choose based on your specific workflow needs
